How It Works

From application to a real, sober life at home.

There is no clinical intake, no insurance paperwork, and no curriculum. The path is simple, but the standards are firm — that's the point.

  1. 01

    Apply

Submit a short application describing your treatment history and current recovery. Most applicants are contacted within a few days.

  2. 02

    Interview

You meet with current residents — either in person or by phone. Residents vote on every new admission; the house only accepts people they feel they can live and recover with.

  3. 03

    Move in

If accepted, you pay your share of move-in costs (typically equivalent to a first month plus a security deposit) and move into a furnished bedroom — usually shared.

  4. 04

    Live the routine

Work or actively seek work. Attend the weekly house meeting. Contribute to chores. Build an outside support program (AA, SMART Recovery, sponsor, therapist — whatever works for you).

  5. 05

Stay as long as you need

There is no time limit. Residents leave when they're ready — many stay a year or more. Some go on to help start or run other sober houses.

Residents who break the no-alcohol-or-drugs rule are asked to leave the same day — without exception. The rule is what makes the house safe for everyone in it.

What it costs

Residents pay an equal share of the house's actual expenses — rent, utilities, and basic household supplies. The house is self-supporting; we do not bill insurance and do not receive ongoing public funding for operating costs. Exact share amounts are shared during the interview.
