House Rules

Clear, firm, and the reason this works.

The rules below are non-negotiable. They exist to protect every resident's recovery — including yours. By moving in, you agree to all of them.

  • 01

No alcohol or non-prescribed drugs — ever, anywhere

Any use, on or off the property, results in immediate removal from the house the same day. This rule is what makes the home a safe place to recover. There are no second chances and no exceptions.

  • 02

Pay your equal share on time

Residents split the house's actual expenses evenly. Share is due on the same day each week or month. Falling behind without an agreed plan is grounds for removal.

  • 03

Work or actively look for work

Every resident is expected to be employed or making a genuine, daily effort to become employed. Recovery is built on structure, and structure is built on responsibility.

  • 04

    Attend the weekly house meeting

The house is self-governed. The weekly meeting is where finances are reviewed, chores assigned, applicants voted on, and concerns raised. Attendance is required.

  • 05

Take part in an outside recovery program

Residents are expected to actively engage in recovery outside the house — AA, NA, SMART Recovery, a sponsor, counseling, or another program that works for them.

  • 06

    Respect every other resident

Violence, threats, theft, harassment, or persistently disruptive behavior is not tolerated. The house may vote to remove any resident whose conduct undermines the home's safety.

  • 07

Keep your space and shared spaces clean

Chores are shared on a rotating basis. Personal areas are your responsibility. A well-kept home reinforces a well-kept life.

  • 08

    Overnight guests and visitors

Guests are welcome during reasonable daytime hours with the house's awareness. Overnight guests are not permitted. Anyone visibly under the influence will be asked to leave.

These rules are summarized for the website. New residents receive a full house agreement at move-in.
